Join Our Mission: Volunteer Accountant/Bookkeeper Needed

Where humans go, medicine follows. The Institute of Health Beyond Earth is a small but mighty organization pioneering research and innovation in natural medicine for space exploration. As the sole full-time team member, I wear many hats, and I'm looking for a skilled volunteer to help with the critical financial side of our work.

We need a dependable individual to help with payroll and accounting so that I can focus more of my time and energy on our core mission: preparing humanity to thrive beyond Earth.

Your Role Will Include:

• Ensuring accurate monthly payroll for our small team (1 employee at present).
• Assisting with the preparation of financial records for our annual tax filing (Form 990).
• Helping to maintain accurate financial books, primarily in a Google Sheets-based system for now.
• Providing valuable insight into efficient financial processes as we grow.

Who You Are:

• An experienced bookkeeper, accountant, or financial professional.
• Familiar with nonprofit tax requirements (Form 990).
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Someone who is passionate about our unique mission and wants to contribute their skills to help us grow.

Time Commitment: We're flexible! We estimate this role would require approximately 5-10 hours per month, with a bit more time needed during tax season.
