Volunteer Opportunity: Friendly Organizing & Moving Support Volunteer

Location: Clackamas County, OR (In-Person)

Volunteer Role: Companion & Organizing Assistant

Are you someone who enjoys helping others create calm and order during challenging life transitions? We are seeking a compassionate volunteer to assist an older adult participant who recently experienced a major housing transition and would benefit from support organizing and unpacking belongings in their apartment.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

• Assist with sorting and organizing household items
• Help unpack boxes and arrange belongings
• Provide encouragement and friendly companionship during visits
• Support the participant in creating a comfortable and functional living space

Ideal Volunteer:

• Patient, kind, and dependable
• Able to assist with light organizing tasks
• Comfortable visiting a home with friendly household pets
• Respectful of participant privacy and dignity

Important Notes:

• No personal care, medical assistance, heavy lifting, or transportation is required.
• Volunteer will receive orientation and ongoing support from the Volunteer Services team.
• Must comply with all Providence volunteer requirements, including screening and training.
