Getting older isn’t always easy. Many people would prefer to stay in their own homes for as long as possible instead of moving to a long-term care facility. Figuring out how to do that safely can be a challenge.
VNA Medical Guardian help buttons are vital in helping a person stay at home and maintain their independence as they age. VNA Medical Guardian help buttons benefit the life and well-being of clients by providing easy access to emergency services, help anytime it is needed, and encourage independence.
VNA Medical Guardian, a non-profit program, depends on volunteers to meet our mission to provide compassionate care and support to Medical Guardian clients. Medical Guardian Volunteers deliver personal emergency response systems (help buttons) as needed in the homes of the elderly and disabled. Volunteers deliver the system inside the client's home, sit and chat with the client, taking time to explain and show the button to the client. Training is provided.
This opportunity is great for a person who likes to meet new people & talk with them. This is also a good fit for someone who likes flexible scheduling. You tell us what day(s) and times you prefer, and what area you prefer to work in (Valpo, Porter County, Lake County, etc) and we schedule appointments for those day(s) and times, in those areas. Estimated time commitment is once a week, for 1-2 hours a week.
