Literacy: One-on-One Tutor

Do you want to share your English skills with others?
Do you want to get teaching experience that will count towards your education, or to beef up your resume?
Do you enjoy spending time with motivated, eager students?
If your answer to any of the above is yes, we encourage you to tutor with the Glendale Library Adult Literacy Program. Our volunteer tutors work with one-on-one with students to help them achieve their educational goals, such as improving basic reading, writing, and speaking skills. No prior teaching experience is necessary. Tutors receive free training, materials, our unending gratitude, letters of recommendation (if you need any), and treats at our annual Tutor Appreciation event.
A commitment of at least one hour per week (equivalent to one student) for six months is expected of all tutors. If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about this program, please email our office at literacy@glendaleca.gov or call us at 818-548-6450.
