At Gentiva Hospice, our volunteer program is designed to be flexible and accommodating, ensuring there's a role for everyone. We understand that your time is valuable, so whether you can offer just one hour a month or dedicate 20 hours, your contribution makes a real difference.
Our diverse opportunities include answering phones, taking messages, and providing compassionate support to families and patients. We offer valuable office skill- building experience for anyone especially helpful for younger volunteers. Beyond administrative roles, volunteer can provide patients companionship, assist with light household chores, run errands, and much more. If you are an individual or a group that likes to sew, we have a Keepsake program just for you or if you knit or crochet, we have a Veteran Blanket Program for you. If you just like making things like hats, blankets, and scarfs we have an opportunity. If you're a Veteran we have a place for you providing assistants with vet-to-vet cafe's, veteran recognition pinning's, and vet- to- vet visits to veteran patients. Requirements for Administrative Volunteers: Will need ID. Background Check, Drug Screening, and education all provided. Direct Care Volunteers/ Veteran Volunteers (seeing patients): Will need Driver's License, car insurance. Background Check, Drug Screening, TB Spot test, and education all provided. Community Volunteers that would make things from home and bring in would just need to provide ID, Phone #. Join us and discover how rewarding it is to give back!
