    Job Title: Volunteer Vice President of Programs

    Organization: Women of Color On The Move (WOCOTM)

    Position Type: Volunteer (Unpaid)

    Location: Remote (Some travel may be required for events in the future)

    Reports To: Chief of Program , Executive Director and CEO

    About WOCOTM:

    WOCOTM is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering and uplifting women and girls of color through leadership development, healing-centered initiatives, education, and advocacy. Our work is rooted in social justice, community healing, and creating transformational spaces for women to lead and thrive.

    Position Summary:

    The Volunteer Vice President of Programs supports the strategic planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of WOCOTM’s key programs and initiatives. Working closely with the Chief of Program and other department leaders, this role ensures that programs are mission-aligned, impactful, and responsive to community needs.

    Key Responsibilities:Program Strategy & Development

    • Assist in the creation, planning, and evolution of core programs including youth mentoring, women's leadership, mental health/wellness, education access, and economic empowerment.
    • Support the implementation of innovative program models grounded in equity, healing, and community resilience.
    • Help design and revise program frameworks, goals, and metrics.

    Program Operations Oversight

    • Provide leadership and coordination to program managers and team leads.
    • Monitor timelines, deliverables, and quality assurance for all active programs.
    • Contribute to the development of training materials, program manuals, and toolkits.

    Evaluation and Reporting

    • Assist with monitoring program progress and gathering outcome data.
    • Help generate reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Participate in continuous improvement processes using feedback from participants and partners.

    Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Help maintain strong relationships with partners, coalitions, and community collaborators.
    • Represent WOCOTM in program meetings, events, and summits as needed.
    • Support outreach efforts to expand community and program participation.

    Team Leadership & Support

    • Provide coaching and support to program staff, interns, and volunteers.
    • Help with onboarding and mentoring new team members within the program department.
    • Promote a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and innovation across teams.

    Qualifications:

    • Passion for the mission of WOCOTM and advancing equity for women and girls of color.
    • At least 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit program management, education, advocacy, or community development.
    • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
    • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Experience in program design, evaluation, or strategic planning preferred.
    • Ability to work remotely and manage multiple priorities.
    • Tech-savvy and comfortable with tools like Google Workspace, Zoom, and project management platforms.

    Time Commitment:

    • 6-10 hours per week (flexible schedule).
    • Minimum commitment of 1 year
