Grant Writer Volunteer Role

Found Family, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides program scholarships for young adults seeking accessible housing and programs. We are seeking a Grant Writer Volunteer for immediate work. The job duties are as follows:

Grant Writer Duties and Responsibilities

• • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the history, structure, objectives, programs and financial needs of the organization
  • Research, prepare, and submit proposals for funding from government and non-government agencies.
  • Target grant opportunities that are not as competitive for other non-profits.
  • Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization
  • Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals.
  • Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and other stakeholders.
  • Follow all requirements and deadlines for grant applications
  • Maintain a grants calendar to monitor progress
  • Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities.
  • Identify new funding opportunities
  • Review budget proposals with the CEO or other team leaders

Grant Writer Requirements and Qualifications

• • Bachelor's degree required
  • Exceptional research and communication skills
  • Prior experience in grant or proposal writing
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication
  • Experience with non-profit fundraising a must
  • Computer proficiency
  • Detail-oriented
  • Other duties as needed
