Overview of Translation Support At Launch Send-Off

The Level Up Launch Send-Off is a powerful closing moment to our 3.5‑day Level Up Launch—an immersive matching experience where youth and mentors explore the core principles of the Level Up program, participate in guided activities, and ultimately meet one another for the first time. This “mentor reveal” is celebrated in a ceremony, Send-Off, attended by caregivers and loved ones, marking the beginning of a transformational journey for each new match.

After the reveal, families connect with their youth’s mentor, receive key program materials, and complete their initial paperwork. This send‑off moment sets the tone for a strong, supportive match—and it’s where we welcome partners to play a meaningful role.

Many of our families are Spanish‑speaking, and some need support as they meet their youth’s mentor, review instructions, or complete required forms. Instead of relying on youth to translate, we invite bilingual partners to help bridge the language gap, ensuring caregivers feel fully included and confident during this critical first meeting.

Volunteer Role: Bilingual (Spanish/English) volunteers will help youth, mentors, and families by:

• Supporting introductions between mentors, youth, and caregivers
• Helping families complete match paperwork and understand next steps
• Providing interpretation if the mentor and youth are having a longer conversation or completing paperwork—helping caregivers feel part of the experience
• Encouraging meaningful communication by translating questions or conversations between caregivers, mentors, and Program Coordinators

Location: New Pathways for Youth (901 E Jefferson St, Phoenix, AZ 85034)

Time commitment: 3:30-5:30 pm
