Horizons for Youth's mission is to transform children's lives by providing targeted resources, rooted in education, in a trusting partnership with their families and communities. How do you fit into our mission?

Make a lasting difference in the life of a student in grades 3-8. As a Big Sib with Horizons for Youth, you'll build a consistent, caring relationship with a young person while becoming a trusted source of encouragement for their entire family.

Connect with your mentee at least twice a month, either virtually or through fun, organized in-person events. By showing up with compassion and curiosity, you'll help your student expand their social network, grow academically and personally, and imagine new possibilities for their future.

Research shows that students paired with a mentor are 55% more likely to enroll in college. Your steady presence can have an impact that lasts well beyond a single school year.

What we're looking for

• A commitment to building a meaningful one-on-one relationship
• Consistent connection at least twice each month
• A willingness to listen, learn, and grow alongside your mentee
• Compassion, curiosity, and enthusiasm for being a positive role model

All volunteers must complete a background check as part of the onboarding process.
