Travel on our donation pickup truck with one of our certified, full-time drivers to assist with loading & unloading donated items.
Supervisor: Our donation pickup drivers will act as your immediate supervisor while on your routes. Our store volunteer leads, Jacquline and Savonne, will supervise any tasks you complete while in our thrift stores, during times when there are breaks between donation pickups. Miranda, our volunteer engagement manager, will assist with any scheduling questions and volunteer hours tracking.
Commitment: Two shifts are available: 9am-12pm & 12:30pm-4pm. Volunteers are not required to commit to the entire day, but must be able to commit to an entire shift. Our trucks run Tuesday-Saturday.
Location: One of our donation pickup trucks leaves from our Central Vancouver Habitat Store at 10811 SE 2nd Street, while the other leaves from our West Vancouver Habitat Store at 3200 NE 52nd Street. Both trucks go all throughout Clark County to collect donations from residents and businesses.
Orientation & Training: Before volunteering on the truck, volunteers must attend an orientation shift and fill out a background check. We cannot accept volunteers with certain histories, including, but not limited to active charges or prior convictions related to theft, violence, or crimes of a sexual nature. Evergreen Habitat pays the cost of all background checks. We do not run a credit check.
