Volunteer Hybrid Senior Donations Lead

We are currently looking for a Hybrid Volunteer Senior Donations Lead to join our team at Chester’s Corner Animal Rescue.

Chester’s Corner Rescue Foundation is a dedicated nonprofit organization specializing in animal rescue and rehabilitation. Our mission is to provide abandoned animals with medical care, emotional support, and a path toward loving, permanent homes. Every effort we make is driven by compassion and a commitment to the welfare of animals in need.

How You Will Contribute:

Purpose:

Oversees major donation initiatives and approves key fundraising efforts. Works closely with the Donations Outreach Coordinator to set strategy and ensure successful campaigns.

Responsibilities:

• Approve and guide donation and sponsorship campaigns
• Mentor and provide oversight to the Donations Outreach Coordinator
• Track fundraising goals and results
• Maintain high-level donor relationships
• Report progress and results to leadership

Immediate Ownership:

This role owns the strategy and approval process for major donations while providing oversight for outreach activities. Leadership sets overall mission priorities, but you drive the execution of high-level initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of prior experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, or a similar role
• Prior experience supervising a team preferred
• Proven track record of securing donations or sponsorships
• Strong professional communication skills (email, phone, and written correspondence)
• Highly self-motivated, independent, and able to manage multiple initiatives
• Comfortable managing confidential information
• Must reside in San Jose or the immediate surrounding area
• Must have a working computer with reliable internet

Commitment Details:

• Approximately 1–3 hours per week
• Flexible scheduling
• Hybrid role: combination of remote strategic work and in-person participation at local fundraising events

Potential for Growth:

This volunteer position has the opportunity to move into a formal leadership role as the organization grows and additional volunteers or staff are onboarded.
