Carpe Librum is a used bookstore benefiting Turning the Page, an education nonprofit dedicated to developing literacy programs for elementary and middle school students in Wards 1, 7, and 8. We will be popping up in Foggy Bottom for an indoor fundraising book sales on Wednesday, April 22, and Thursday, April 23. We will need volunteers to help us set up in the morning and box up in the afternoon. This is a great opportunity to spend an hour or two supporting literacy and positive educational outcomes in the DC public school students.
Can you lend a hand?
The first shift is from April 22, 10 am-11:00 am, helping to set up tables and shelve books by genre.
The second shift is from April 23, 2:30 pm-4:00 pm, helping to pack up books.
If interested, sign up, and we will reach out with more details. Thank you!
(By the way, we’re not just any bookstore: we’re a fundraising bookstore! Carpe Librum collects donated books, CDs, and DVDs to support the DC nonprofit Turning the Page.)
