Senior Connections Plus volunteers provide companionship to help older adults in affordable housing combat social isolation. You help them stay independent offering assistance with light housekeeping duties and help navigating their smart phones, tablets and other electronic devices.
Some things they may ask you to assist with include (but not limited to): navigating the apps on their phone or iPad, teaching them how to Facetime with their family who might live far away, tidying up their apartment, or running a load of laundry.
Senior Connections Plus Volunteers visit at least twice a month for a total of 4 hours per month. Scheduling can be mutually agreed upon and flexible. In order to build a relationship, volunteers are also asked to commit to at least a three-month time period.
