Descripción
Bristol Hospice is recruiting Veterans for our Veteran-to-Veteran program volunteer program. Veterans who serve our nation are deeply deserving of honor and respect. Veterans have a unique shared experience and culture, and this becomes even more important near the end of life.
Our Veteran-to-Veteran Volunteer program can provide support with the following activities:
- Assist Veterans in reminiscing and sharing life stories by connecting them with fellow veterans from the community.
- Assist patients in receiving Veteran Benefits.
- Take part in honoring Veterans for their military service.
- Assist Veterans in replacing lost awards and decorations.
Veteran hospice volunteers are a valuable resource for other veterans as the share similar experiences, common military terminology, and a military bond.
Volunteers receive mileage reimbursement for patient visits.
