Role Summary:

The Volunteer Finance Specialist, Carbon Project Development will support the financial structuring, analysis, and sustainability of carbon projects. This role ensures that carbon initiatives are financially viable, well-structured, and aligned with market and funding mechanisms by providing insights that guide investment decisions and long-term project scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop financial models and projections for carbon project development and implementation.
• Analyze project costs, revenue streams, and carbon credit pricing to support decision-making.
• Support budgeting, financial planning, and capital allocation across carbon initiatives.
• Conduct research on carbon finance mechanisms, including carbon markets, offset programs, and blended finance.
• Collaborate with technical and program teams to align financial strategies with project development goals.

Requirements:

• Background in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.
• Experience in financial analysis, modeling, or project finance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Excel or other financial modeling tools.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with carbon markets, climate finance, or sustainability-related investments.
• Experience with project finance or infrastructure financing models.
• Experience working on nonprofit, environmental, or impact-driven projects.
