Visiting seniors can be such a great experience. Visiting patient on hospice, at end of life, is a blessing. This opportunity also lets you learn about hospice. There are many myths. Hospice patients have a diagnosis of 6 months or less to live. Some people live less and other live many years. Our goal is to make the quality of life the best it can be. Some people live in their own homes and the caregiver may need a break but the patient needs compancy. Patients may also live in a facility.
Our volunteers are able to visit and just have conversation. Thye may like to listen to music, play cards, work on puzzles, read or be read to, watch TV or do some other activities. The role of the volunteer is to have no hands on care. This all about the person, on service, and what brings the joy.
