About us
International Transformation Foundation USA (ITF-USA) is a U.S.-based nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to reliable, affordable clean water in communities across Africa while empowering young people through leadership and cross-cultural service. ITF-USA engages young Americans in fundraising, project planning, implementation support, and monitoring alongside local ITF teams and communities. Through this community-led approach, our programs combine clean water access, youth empowerment, and global learning to create sustainable impact and develop engaged global citizens.
About the opportunity
As the Communications Manager, you will support the day-to-day execution of ITF-USA’s communications and marketing strategy. Working under the Marketing & Communications Director, you will create and publish content across ITF-USA’s digital platforms, support project and fundraising communications, and help communicate the organization’s impact through engaging storytelling. This role provides hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, digital marketing, content creation, and international development. Please note that this is a remote volunteer position.
What you’ll be doing
- Create, schedule, and publish content across social media, newsletters, blogs, and ITF-USA’s website.
- Develop engaging written and visual content that highlights Water Kiosk/Fountain projects, volunteers, partners, and organizational impact.
- Support communications for project trips and launches, including trip updates, photos/videos, impact stories, and post-trip content.
- Maintain the communications calendar and coordinate content needs with Projects, Fundraising, and other teams.
- Support fundraising campaigns, volunteer recruitment, events, and other organizational initiatives through digital communications and storytelling.
- Maintain consistent branding, messaging, and content quality across communication platforms.
- Monitor social media, website, and campaign performance and support regular communications reporting.
- Support media outreach, community engagement, and other opportunities to increase ITF-USA’s visibility.
Eligibility
- Degree or coursework in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, digital media, or a related field.
- Experience with communications, social media management, digital marketing, content creation, or public relations.
- Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and visual content creation skills.
- Experience managing social media, websites, newsletters, blogs, or other digital platforms.
- Familiarity with Canva, Wix, social media management tools, or similar platforms.
- Strong organization, creativity, attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Interest in nonprofit communications, fundraising, international development, and community-centered storytelling.
- Minimum availability of 10–15 hours per week for at least six months.
