At any given time, more than 400 children in Madison County are in foster care. CAJA of Madison County provides dedicated volunteer advocates for approximately 250 of them, but every child deserves one. We need YOU to step up and ensure EVERY child has a voice in court. Become a CAJA advocate today! CAJA volunteer training is held 3-4 times a year. Email allison@caja4kids.org for an application.
CAJA of Madison County’s mission is to train, empower, and inspire volunteer advocates to improve the lives of abused and neglected children. On average, kids who have a CAJA spend 8 months less in foster care than those without a CAJA. Our program succeeds because of compassionate, dedicated volunteer advocates like you! No special background or education is required to become a CAJA volunteer! We encourage people from all cultures, professions, ethnicities, and educational backgrounds to become a CAJA. CAJA volunteers are assigned to one child or sibling set at a time to ensure dedicated, focused advocacy. A staff Advocate Supervisor is assigned with the Volunteer to provide guidance, training, and ongoing support throughout the case, from appointment until permanency.
