1st and 2nd grade reading tutors in Annapolis

STAIR-Annapolis, Start The Adventure In Reading, is a twice-weekly, AFTER SCHOOL literacy tutoring program for Anne Arundel County Public School first and second grade students reading below grade level. Tutors work one-on-one with a student for a one hour and 45 minute session, and we offer our volunteers the flexibility to choose their level of commitment: one day per week, two days per week, or as a substitute on an as-needed basis. STAIR-Annapolis has 16 sites throughout Anne Arundel County, and we place tutors at sites that are convenient to their home. This Fall, STAIR will open a new site in Annapolis at the Monarch Academy, 2000 Capital Drive. STAIR at the Monarch Academy will be held on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:45, and on Wednesdays from 1:30-2:45. STAIR is also in need of tutors and substitutes at our other sites throughout Annapolis. The STAIR program runs from early October to early May. We offer a comprehensive introduction and training for all new volunteers.

The info sessions are 45 minutes and are an overview of the STAIR program. In August, STAIR will begin to schedule the required 2-hour curriculum trainings. The curriculum trainings will be offered at various dates and locations for the convenience of our volunteers.
