Volunteer Role: Companion Volunteer

We are seeking a compassionate, patient volunteer to provide companionship and encouragement for an older adult living in a memory care community.

The participant enjoys sports, outdoor activities, and connecting with others through conversation. A volunteer who is friendly, encouraging, and enjoys helping others engage in their community would be an excellent match.

Volunteer Activities May Include:

• Engaging in friendly conversation and social visits
• Accompanying the participant to community activities within their residence
• Encouraging participation in recreational and social programs
• Spending time outdoors in designated areas, as appropriate
• Supporting confidence and social engagement through consistent companionship

Volunteer Qualifications:

• Friendly, patient, and dependable
• Comfortable working with older adults in a memory care setting
• Encouraging and supportive personality
• Able to commit to regular in-person visits
• Complete Providence volunteer onboarding requirements
