Volunteer Opportunity: Encouraging Companion Volunteer
Location: Clackamas County, OR
Commitment: In-Person Visits
Volunteer Role: Companion Volunteer
We are seeking a compassionate, patient volunteer to provide companionship and encouragement for an older adult living in a memory care community.
The participant enjoys sports, outdoor activities, and connecting with others through conversation. A volunteer who is friendly, encouraging, and enjoys helping others engage in their community would be an excellent match.
Volunteer Activities May Include:
- Engaging in friendly conversation and social visits
- Accompanying the participant to community activities within their residence
- Encouraging participation in recreational and social programs
- Spending time outdoors in designated areas, as appropriate
- Supporting confidence and social engagement through consistent companionship
Volunteer Qualifications:
- Friendly, patient, and dependable
- Comfortable working with older adults in a memory care setting
- Encouraging and supportive personality
- Able to commit to regular in-person visits
- Complete Providence volunteer onboarding requirements
