Type: Internship (Part-Time) (Unpaid)
Duration: 4 Months
Job Descriptions:
- Lead the visual design direction for Resilience Inc.’s marketing and curriculum-support materials, ensuring alignment with the mission to equip youth and families with resiliency skills.
- Develop and execute a cohesive graphic design plan that supports SEL curriculum themes, organizational campaigns, and brand consistency across all channels.
- Create high-quality graphics for social media, outreach campaigns, presentations, and digital marketing that make SEL concepts engaging and easy to understand.
- Oversee design development for print lesson plans and curriculum materials, including creating, editing, and placing graphics that improve clarity and learning experience.
- Provide creative leadership by establishing templates, style guidelines, and best practices to maintain a consistent visual identity.
- Mentor and support junior designers/volunteers by assigning tasks (as needed), providing feedback, and ensuring timely delivery of assets.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with content writers, SEL subject-matter experts, and marketing leads to translate educational concepts into strong visual storytelling.
- Generate and pitch merchandise concepts (e.g., stickers, apparel, classroom materials) that reinforce Resilience Inc.’s SEL messaging and expand engagement.
- Review and quality-check all final design outputs for accuracy, accessibility, and production readiness (correct sizing, resolution, print-safe formatting).
- Maintain organized design files and shared asset libraries, ensuring smooth handoffs and proper version control.
Requirements:
- Strong alignment with Resilience Inc.’s mission and values, including commitment to promoting social and emotional health and expanding SEL adoption—especially in underserved communities.
- Demonstrated graphic design experience with a strong portfolio (digital + print samples preferred).
- Proficiency with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Canva, Figma, or equivalent.
- Experience creating brand-consistent systems (templates, style guides, reusable assets) and applying them across multiple deliverables.
- Strong understanding of design fundamentals (typography, layout, hierarchy, color, and composition) and ability to communicate design decisions clearly.
- Ability to translate complex ideas (SEL concepts, emotional intelligence topics) into simple, audience-friendly visuals for K–12 students, parents, and educators.
- Leadership skills: able to guide others, give constructive feedback, and manage priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and file/version management habits.
- Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and coordinate with a remote team through weekly meetings and async communication.
- Reliable, punctual, responsive, and professional in communication.
