    About First & Gold Foundation

    First & Gold Foundation is a mission-driven nonprofit that uses football as a platform to develop leaders, expand opportunities, and promote equity for youth and families. We provide student-athletes in Charlotte, NC, and Minneapolis, MN, with access to programs that support success on the field, in the classroom, and in life. As we scale, we are committed to building strong governance, sustainable operations, and financial stewardship to ensure our programs have lasting impact. At First & Gold Foundation, every volunteer and staff member plays a critical role in shaping the future of our student-athletes, helping them achieve their goals while fostering a culture of leadership, teamwork, and community engagement.

    Position Overview

    The volunteer Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development and execution of First & Gold Foundation's fundraising strategy. Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the CFO, this role focuses on donor relations, grant research, fundraising campaigns, and events. This is a meaningful opportunity for a development professional to apply their expertise to a cause that directly impacts youth lives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the development and implementation of the Foundation's annual fundraising plan
    • Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources
    • Draft grant applications, letters of inquiry, and grant reports in partnership with leadership
    • Build and maintain a donor database track giving history, communications, and follow-up
    • Coordinate donor stewardship activities thank-you letters, impact updates, and relationship touchpoints
    • Support planning and execution of fundraising events including the annual First & Gold Honors Gala
    • Assist with fundraising campaigns end-of-year appeals, crowdfunding, and social media fundraising
    • Collaborate with the CMO (Ebony Ivey) on fundraising-related communications and marketing materials
    • Track and report on fundraising progress against goals to the Executive Director and Board
    • Identify new fundraising opportunities and corporate partnership prospects

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Business, or related field preferred
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in fundraising, development, or grant writing
    • Experience with donor management software (Bloomerang, Salesforce Nonprofit, or similar) a plus
    • Strong writing skills able to craft compelling, mission-aligned narratives for diverse audiences
    • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and relationship-building skills
    • Comfortable working independently in a remote, fast-moving environment
    • Genuine passion for youth sports, equity, and community development
