Volunteer Grant Writer / Funding Researcher — Ethical + Debiased AI
THEYtriarchy is seeking a volunteer Grant Writer / Funding Researcher to support initiatives focused on ethical AI, debiasing systems, equitable technology, and the future of human-centered innovation.
We’re particularly interested in projects exploring bias in AI systems, inclusive datasets, transparency, trust, digital equity, and technologies designed to better serve historically overlooked communities.
To date, we’ve secured smaller 4 and 5 figure cash grants alongside six figure in-kind support. We are now focused on building toward larger, more sustainable funding capable of supporting full-time technical, research, and operational teams.
We are currently in final-round consideration for several six and seven figure opportunities and are looking to leverage that momentum into additional foundation, institutional, and corporate funding partnerships.
We’re looking for someone who:
Has experience researching technology, AI, research, nonprofit, or public-interest grants
Can identify aligned opportunities across AI ethics, responsible technology, digital equity, and emerging technology ecosystems
Is organized, curious, and comfortable navigating complex technical or societal themes
Can support proposal drafting, research, timelines, and supporting materials
You might help with:
- AI ethics and responsible technology grants
- Public-interest technology funding
- Research and innovation opportunities
- Partnerships with foundations, universities, nonprofits, and civic organizations
- Funding pipelines focused on equitable innovation
This is ideal for someone interested in AI ethics, emerging technology, civic tech, systems design, digital equity, or mission-driven innovation.
Remote + flexible hours. Potential for future paid opportunities as projects scale.
