    Nonprofit Board Member (Volunteer)

    If you ever wanted to support the foster care community, this is a perfect opportunity for you. The Foster and Adoptive Parent Advocacy Center (FAPAC), is seeking passionate leaders to join our Board of Directors and help drive systemic change for foster, adoptive, and kinship families in DC—apply or nominate someone today!

    MISSION

    To improve the quality of life, well-being, and dignity of children in the District of Columbia by strengthening, supporting, and empowering foster, adoptive, kinship, and birth families. FAPAC is a registered 501c3 charity organization.

    ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Organization: abide by the organization’s bylaws, policies, role descriptions, and operating procedures.

    Strategic Leadership: guide the organization's growth and achievement of the strategic and fundraising plan.

    Service: Attend bi-monthly board meetings, Serve on 1 committee, participate in annual events.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Commitment to serve for 2 years
    • Comfort with assisting in fundraising efforts
    • Desire to learn about board leadership and the foster care system
    • Agreement to give or raise $2,000 annually
