Director of Partnerships (Volunteer)

Time Commitment: ~4 hours per month | Minimum 1 meeting per quarter

Maker Mindz is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering K-12 students through hands-on STEM education, interactive tech tools, and inclusive learning opportunities. We bridge educational gaps by providing engaging, accessible programming in technology, engineering, and digital literacy.

Maker Mindz is seeking a collaborative Director of Partnerships to connect our non-profit with schools, youth centers, community hubs, and corporate sponsors. You will help expand our reach by establishing relationships with organizations aligned with our mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Outreach & Relationship Building: Identify and contact potential educational partners, schools, and non-profit collaborators.
• Sponsorship Exploration: Connect with local businesses and tech companies for in-kind support, event sponsorships, or volunteer network cross-promotion.
• Partner Onboarding: Serve as the primary point of contact for new institutional partners during initial collaboration discussions.
• Governance & Syncs: Attend quarterly leadership meetings to share partner feedback and map out outreach priorities.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience in business development, community outreach, sales, or partnership management.
• Warm, professional communication style across email and virtual meetings.
• Creative thinker adept at identifying win-win alignment between organizations.
• Passion for STEM accessibility and youth empowerment.

Compensation

This is a volunteer opportunity. Current compensation does not include a 401(k), employee pension, health insurance, vacation pay, sick pay, or other fringe benefits. However, this role provides valuable leadership, board-level governance, and non-profit management experience that is highly beneficial for both academic and industry career pathways.

Work Authorization

Ability to work in the US without Visa sponsorship.
