Volunteer Board of Directors

🔧 The Opportunity

We are forming our founding Volunteer Board of Directors to help guide growth, strengthen operations, and expand impact in the community.

This is a hands-on, mission-driven board—not just advisory. You’ll help shape programs, support youth, and build something that lasts.

🎯 Board Member Responsibilities

• Attend monthly board meetings (virtual or in-person)
• Support strategic planning and growth
• Help secure donations, sponsorships, and partnerships
• Provide guidance in your area of expertise
• Advocate for youth programs and community engagement
• Uphold the mission and values of Vaca Bikes

🧠 Ideal Skills (we don’t expect one person to have all)

We are especially looking for people with experience in:

• Youth development / mentorship
• Nonprofit leadership or startup building
• Fundraising & grant writing
• Marketing / social media
• Bike industry or hands-on trades
• Education or school partnerships
• Legal, finance, or operations

🔥 Youth Board Positions (Ages 14–18)

We are also recruiting teen board members who want to step into leadership.

Youth members will:

• Represent the voice of the program
• Help plan events and ride-outs
• Support social media and outreach
• Learn leadership, communication, and decision-making
