Fall is a busy time when our horticulturists are planning for spring, as they have thousands of tulip bulbs to plant and leaves to rake. Additional volunteers in October and early November will help our staff accomplish these big projects before it gets too cold (we hope!). Tools and instructions are provided, no previous gardening experience is needed. Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. We recommend wearing layers as the temperatures can change during the day. Bring gardening gloves if you have them, otherwise volunteers can borrow some. Volunteers can work in light rain if they are comfortable doing so, but shifts are cancelled for heavy rain or thunderstorms. Volunteers will be notified if a shift is cancelled due to weather.
