    Descripción

Global Climate Collective is seeking directors with meaningful legal and/or fundraising experience and expertise. We welcome candidates with backgrounds in major gifts, corporate partnerships, donor networks, grant writing, grantmaking or nonprofit law. Candidates should have a sincere interest in supporting climate change mitigation by strengthening Indigenous rights and Indigenous economies.

Ideally, new directors would join the Board in Q3 2026.

    Role of Board members

We are recruiting new members to build our fundraising capacity in the face of a rapidly changing funding landscape. While residing in the U.S. is not a prerequisite for appointees, the ability to attend meetings virtually during the early evening on the U.S. West Coast is required.

    Qualifications and desired experience:

    • You are passionately committed to Global Climate Collective’s mission (read https://www.globalclimatecollective.org/what-were-financing)
    • You have experience in successful fundraising: major gifts, corporate partnerships, donor networks, grant writing, grantmaking
    • You have served on a board of directors or have experience presenting to boards
    • You have a vibrant network and are proactive in identifying and proposing opportunities for the benefit of the organization
    • You enjoy working as a team, offering insight and guidance
    • You value kindness and collaboration
    • You make wise and informed judgments
    • You have professional or lived experience of the issues GCC is working to uplift
    • If you don’t have all the above experience, your passion for our work may be enough to qualify you, so please apply

    Remuneration

Board Director positions are voluntary, unpaid positions whose role is focused on supporting the organization, including through fundraising. Our vision is that board members with fundraising expertise support GCC to bring in new sources of funding.

    Term of office

The term of office is for two years. Members may serve two additional terms of two years, subject to agreement of the Board of Directors.

    Time commitment

Four meetings a year of 90 minutes to two hours, attending ad hoc meetings on occasion, and being available irregularly to offer advice. Board directors are expected to devote time to fundraising. We have fun and exciting fundraising plans, and many different ways directors can contribute.

We practice equality in our recruitment and seek diversity in our Board of Directors. We encourage members of the World Majority, the differently abled and LGBTQIA+ communities to apply.
