Volunteer-Internship: Social Business Development

Help a community group turn a skill they already have into a small business that pays its own way.

What you will do

• Cost out products that local groups already make.
• Find buyers and test prices in nearby markets.
• Write a one-page plan the group can run on its own.

Who this is for

• Students and graduates of business, economics or design.
• You can do the sums and explain them simply.
• You plan for the group to run it without you.

What you get

• A business plan for your portfolio, tested with real buyers.
• A free letter confirming your dates and your work when you finish.

What it costs

This placement is unpaid. Room and meals can be free in this role; we confirm it in your offer. Otherwise the usual fee applies:

• From abroad: USD 810 for one month, USD 1,350 for three, USD 1,980 for six, plus a refundable USD 45 deposit. You need health and evacuation insurance.
• From India: ₹9,000 a month for one month, falling to ₹3,000 a month for six, plus a refundable ₹1,500 deposit for some housing.
• Not included: flights, visa fees and insurance.
• Group discounts and scholarships can lower the fee.
• The fee is less than your stay costs us.
