    Job Title: Grant Writer (Volunteer)

    Organization: The Azgari Foundation

    Location: Remote (US-Based)

Time Commitment: 5–10 hours per week (Flexible)

    Position Type: Volunteer / Unpaid

    About the Azgari Foundation

The Azgari Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity providing tuition-free, 100% online workforce training and career pipelines for young people ages 14–25. We focus heavily on opportunity youth—including young adults aging out of foster care or exiting the juvenile justice system. Through live, professional instruction in digital skills, AI tools, marketing, and web development, we help our students bridge the gap from learning to owning a stable career.

To fund our programs and scale our operations, we need dedicated, articulate Grant Writers to help us secure foundation, corporate, and government funding.

    About the Role

We are looking for a small team of detail-oriented, persuasive Grant Writers to identify and apply for funding opportunities. In this role, you will take our mission, data, and student success stories and translate them into compelling, high-scoring grant proposals.

If you love writing, enjoy the thrill of deep research, and want to use your words to unlock funding that directly impacts the lives of at-risk youth, this role is for you.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prospect Research: Search and identify potential grant opportunities from corporate foundations, community foundations, and government entities that align with workforce development, youth services, and digital equity.
    • Proposal Development: Write, edit, and assemble high-quality grant proposals, letters of intent (LOIs), and application packages tailored to specific funder guidelines.
    • Storytelling & Data Integration: Work with our leadership team to weave student success metrics, program data, and institutional goals into a highly compelling narrative.
    • Grant Calendar Management: Maintain an organized pipeline of upcoming grant deadlines, tracking application statuses, requirements, and compliance metrics.

    Qualifications

    • Exceptional Writing Skills: Ability to write clear, structured, and highly persuasive narratives. You can articulate complex social issues simply and powerfully.
    • Strong Analytical & Research Skills: Comfortable navigating grant databases, reading dense Request for Proposals (RFPs), and extracting exact funding criteria.
    • Detail-Oriented & Organized: Strict adherence to deadlines, word counts, and formatting requirements is non-negotiable.
    • Experience Level: Open to professional grant writers looking to donate their skills, freelance copywriters wanting to transition into the nonprofit sector, or technical writing students eager to build a high-value portfolio.

    What’s In It For You?

    • A Proven Track Record: Successfully winning grants is one of the most lucrative and highly sought-after skills in the nonprofit and corporate worlds. This role gives you direct, measurable case studies for your resume.
    • Deep Social Impact: Every dollar you secure directly funds tuition, AI tool access, and paid pipelines that break the cycle of poverty for youth.
    • Complete Autonomy: Work from anywhere on your own schedule, as long as application deadlines are rigorously met.
    • Executive Endorsement: A highly specific letter of recommendation detailing the exact funding you helped secure, a LinkedIn recommendation, and professional references from our executive team.

    How to Apply

If you want to use your writing talents to secure life-changing funding, please send a message to our team outlining your writing background and why you want to write on behalf of the Azgari Foundation. If you have a short writing sample or past proposal excerpt, please include it!
