    Join the Board: Become a Project Lead with a Youth Led Non profit Dedicated to Animal Welfare

    The UVFA Project Lead role is a leadership-focused volunteer position for motivated students who want to join the Board and take ownership of one of UVFA’s core initiatives. Project Leads choose one of two tracks—Awareness Journal (Tails of Tales) or Kindness Curriculum Educational Outreach—and guide their project from development to completion with support from UVFA team.

    What You’ll Lead

    1. Awareness Journal (Tales of Tails) Track

    Project Leads in this track manage UVFA’s online awareness journal, Tales of Tails.

    You will:

    • Oversee content creation focused on animal welfare, shelter stories, community issues, and educational topics
    • Recruit and support volunteer writers
    • Edit and publish articles that raise awareness and spark compassion
    • Build partnerships with shelters or students to gather stories and insights
    • Run monthly content cycles and ensure quality, consistency, and impact

    This track is ideal for volunteers who enjoy writing, journalism, storytelling, content editing, and digital advocacy.

    2: Kindness Curriculum & Educational Outreach Track

    Project Leads in this track bring UVFA’s Kindness Curriculum to local communities.

    You will:

    • Organize and deliver educational sessions on empathy and responsible animal care
    • Partner with schools, libraries, youth clubs, and community centers
    • Recruit and train volunteers to help with presentations or activities
    • Host workshops, discussions, and kid-friendly learning modules
    • Develop new lesson ideas and interactive outreach projects

    This track is ideal for volunteers who love teaching, public speaking, planning events, and working with youth.

    General Responsibilities (Both Tracks)

    • Lead a volunteer team of 3–10 people
    • Plan and execute at least one project milestone per month or semester
    • Communicate regularly with UVFA team for updates and support
    • Submit short monthly progress recaps
