Opportunity Overview

Writers Read is seeking Marketing Volunteers to support audience growth, content promotion, and brand visibility across our live events, podcast, and digital platforms.

• Format: Flexible, remote-friendly (open to volunteers worldwide)
• Goal: Shape how Writers Read connects with its audience through social media, campaigns, and creative storytelling
• Ideal Candidate: Anyone who enjoys blending creativity with strategy and wants to contribute to a mission-driven arts organization

Volunteer Responsibilities

Depending on experience and interest, Marketing Volunteers may contribute to:

1. Social Media & Content Promotion
   • Plan, create, and schedule content across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)
   • Help promote upcoming live events, podcast releases, and featured writers
   • Write captions, messaging, and audience-facing content
   • Monitor engagement and suggest ways to grow reach and interaction
2. Campaign Development
   • Support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns
   • Help develop promotional strategies for events and digital releases
   • Contribute ideas for audience growth and retention
   • Assist with content calendars and scheduling
3. Brand & Messaging
   • Ensure consistency in voice, tone, and visual identity across platforms
   • Collaborate on storytelling strategies that highlight Writers Read’s mission
   • Help position Writers Read as a destination for meaningful storytelling
4. Creative Collaboration
   • Work alongside media production volunteers to align content with campaigns
   • Contribute ideas for new digital initiatives and audience engagement
   • Support cross-functional efforts with production and leadership teams

Qualifications

We are looking for volunteers with experience or interest in:

• Social media management or digital marketing
• Content creation and storytelling
• Writing for marketing, captions, or campaigns
• Basic analytics or performance tracking (a plus)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred (but not required):

• Experience with social scheduling tools
• Understanding of audience growth strategies
• Familiarity with creative or nonprofit storytelling
