Organization: Sisters in Christ: Women of Purpose, Daughters of Promise

    Location: Remote

About the Organization | Sisters in Christ: Women of Purpose, Daughters of Promise is a faith-based organization dedicated to creating transformative spaces for women to build their faith, embrace discipleship, and realize their God-given identity, inspired by Isaiah 61:3. The organization fosters a Christ-centered sisterhood rooted in love and authenticity, offering opportunities for spiritual growth, emotional healing, and personal development. Through initiatives like the Vision & Legacy Office, Kingdom Impact initiatives, and Resilience University, we empower women to thrive as leaders in their families, churches, and communities. Committed to biblical truth and lasting transformation, we aim to equip women to live as impactful disciples and daughters of promise.

About the Role | The Development Officer advances the organization’s fundraising strategy by identifying, cultivating, and pursuing funding opportunities from private foundations, corporate partners, and public sector sources. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this role is responsible for preparing high-quality grant proposals, coordinating submissions, and tracking funding opportunities that support both programmatic initiatives and organizational operations. The Development Officer plays a key role in securing vital resources and expanding philanthropic support to sustain and grow the organization’s mission. This is a fully remote, volunteer position with flexible hours.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Research, identify, and manage grant funding and corporate partnership opportunities aligned with the organization’s mission.
    • Assist in drafting, editing, and submitting grant proposals and reports.
    • Support the development and maintenance of funder relationships and engagement strategies.
    • Track grant submissions, deadlines, and follow-up communications.
    • Contribute to budget preparation for grant applications and development campaigns.
    • Assist with development communications, including newsletters, impact reports, and online campaigns as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Strong writing, editing, and research skills, particularly in grant and proposal development.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage both internally and externally.

    Experience:

    • Grant proposal writing: 1 year (Required)
    • Fundraising and/or grant management software: 1 year (Required)

    Work Location: Remote

    Commitment & Expectations (Important)

This is a mission-driven volunteer role that requires consistency, accountability, and a genuine commitment to the organization’s purpose.

    We are seeking individuals who:

    • Can commit to a minimum of 1–4 hours per week (flexible scheduling, but consistent engagement required)
    • Are able to attend recurring virtual meetings (weekly or biweekly as needed)
    • Intend to remain in the role for a minimum of 3–6 months to ensure continuity of projects
    • Will approach this role with professionalism, ownership, and follow-through
    • Understand that while we fully respect the need to pursue paid opportunities, this role requires reliability and advance communication if availability changes

This opportunity is best suited for individuals who are:

    • Passionate about faith-based service and impact
    • Looking to grow in nonprofit development/fundraising experience
    • Able to balance this role alongside other personal or professional commitments
