    Volunteer Board Member – Legal, Compliance, or Quality Assurance

    Organization: Quest Autism Programs, Inc.

    Location: Midland Park, New Jersey (Quarterly meetings held via Zoom)

    Quest Autism Programs, Inc. is a small, mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of adults with autism ages 21 and older. Based in Midland Park, New Jersey, Quest provides high-quality residential and day services that promote independence, dignity, community inclusion, and meaningful opportunities for the individuals we support.

    Opportunity

    Quest Autism Programs is seeking an experienced nonprofit professional to join our Board of Directors. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in legal affairs, regulatory compliance, human resources, or quality assurance, and a strong understanding of New Jersey's Division of Developmental Disabilities (NJ DDD) and the regulatory environment governing residential and day programs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

    As a Board Member, you will provide strategic guidance, support sound governance, and help ensure that Quest continues to deliver high-quality, person-centered services while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and best practices.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working in the nonprofit sector, particularly human services or developmental disabilities.
    • Knowledge of New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (NJ DDD) regulations, licensing, and provider requirements.
    • Professional expertise in one or more of the following:
    • Legal
    • Regulatory Compliance
    • Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement
    • Human Resources
    • Residential Programs and Social Services
    • Understanding of nonprofit governance and fiduciary responsibilities is preferred.
    • Commitment to the mission of supporting adults with autism and developmental disabilities.

    Board Responsibilities

    • Attend quarterly Board of Directors meetings via Zoom.
    • Provide strategic oversight and guidance within your area of expertise.
    • Review policies, compliance matters, and organizational performance as appropriate.
    • Serve as an ambassador for Quest Autism Programs within the community.
    • Support the organization's mission, sustainability, and long-term strategic goals.

    Time Commitment

    • Approximately 3-4 hours a month.
    • Quarterly Board meetings conducted via Zoom, with occasional committee work or consultation between meetings.
