The Actors Theatre Workshop (ATW) is a non-profit theater company and educational institution founded in 1990 by award-winning actor, writer and director Thurman E. Scott, whose mentor Stella Adler named “...the inheritor of the Stanislavsky legacy and of my legacy.” Our dynamic theater seeks an experienced Literary Manager Volunteer to assist with ATW’s Play Reading & Discussion Series and support ATW’s overall mission to develop and present original dramatic material that reveals the issues we are grappling with as a collective community. This year’s theme will be centered around presenting plays that explore the process of “Finding Hope Through Darkness”.

Areas of responsibility include reviewing and curating submitted plays, outreach to playwrights, assistance with contracts, and helping to recruit and manage a team of volunteers supporting. The Literary Manager will report directly to ATW’s Artistic Director and Founder, Thurman E. Scott. This individual must be an articulate, enthusiastic communicator who can work well in a creative ensemble.

The ideal Literary Management Volunteer would possess a theater, or English background.
