Mustill Store Museum Store Greeter on the Ohio & Erie Canal!!

Basic volunteer qualifications involved with this assignment

If you enjoy people, and want to learn and share the knowledge about the Mustill Store and the Ohio & Erie Canal this is the position for you. No prior knowledge is required. The Mustill Store Museum is open 10:00am – 4:00pm Saturdays and Sundays (May – Oct) and 10:00am – 2:00pm Fridays in June, July, & August.

Responsibilities include:

• Greeting visitors
• Expanding your knowledge of the canal era in Akron (resources are available)
• Light sales of books, beverages, etc.
• Assist with store opening and closing duties when needed

Who will be served by this assignment? Museum Visitors and the Organization as a whole

What is the anticipated benefit of this volunteer service to those receiving the service? Our doors would not open if it weren’t for our Volunteer Store Greeters! The Store Greeter is the first point of contact the public has with us and it is important that they are welcome browse and we are available for questions or some history fun facts.

What specific skills will the volunteer need? May require standing for long periods of time, bending, & reaching.
