About PromiseStudios | Creative, Media & Production
PromiseStudios is MAP’s creative division responsible for storytelling, media production, and content development. Within the division, PromisePod leads podcast creation—expanding across audio and video formats to ensure every episode is engaging, intentional, and aligned with MAP’s voice and mission.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Director of Podcast Video Editing to lead visual editorial quality, storytelling, and post-production across MAP’s video podcast content.
This role ensures that every video episode is visually compelling, cohesive, and professionally produced—guiding editing standards, managing video editors, and maintaining consistency across all visual outputs.
Key Responsibilities
Video Editorial Leadership & Standards
- Define and maintain video editing standards, pacing, and visual storytelling approach
- Ensure consistency in transitions, cuts, graphics, and overall viewer experience
- Review and approve final video edits before publication
Visual Storytelling & Narrative Alignment
- Shape the visual narrative of each episode to complement audio storytelling
- Collaborate with hosts and producers to enhance on-screen presence and delivery
- Ensure alignment between video, audio, and MAP’s voice
Post-Production Oversight
- Oversee video editing, color correction, motion graphics, and final delivery
- Ensure all video content meets platform standards (YouTube, social, etc.)
- Maintain high-quality visual output across all formats
Team Management & Development
- Lead and support video editors and assistant editors
- Provide feedback, training, and creative direction
- Ensure consistent performance and growth across the team
Workflow & Systems
- Develop and maintain efficient video post-production workflows
- Ensure organized file management, asset libraries, and version control
- Coordinate timelines and delivery schedules
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with podcast editorial and production leadership
- Coordinate with audio engineers to ensure seamless audio-video integration
- Align video content with communications and marketing strategy
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in video editing, post-production, or media production
- Strong understanding of visual storytelling, pacing, and narrative structure
- Proficiency in video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve)
- Strong attention to detail and creative judgment
- Alignment with MAP’s mission and dignity-centered values
Preferred
- Experience editing video podcasts, interviews, or long-form content
- Experience leading or managing creative teams
- Knowledge of motion graphics, color grading, and visual branding
- Familiarity with YouTube and social video optimization
Commitment
- Volunteer leadership role
- Approximately 5–10 hours per week
- Minimum 6-month commitment preferred
- Fully remote
