    Volunteering in the Wildlife Botanical Gardens

    Volunteer Opportunities:

    Gardening: Come out and help to maintain the Wildlife Botanical Gardens. Garden coordinators are out every Saturday from 9 a.m.-- noon (March through October) and they need your help! Tasks include basic gardening such as weeding, raking, pruning, planting, etc., as you desire and your physical abilities allow. No previous experience required. Training is provided.

    Garden Coordinator Apprentice: Work with a Garden Coordinator to learn about maintaining, pruning, plant replacement, maintain paths and detailing the garden. work as a team. Training will be provided.

    Garden Coordinator or Co-Coordinator: Oversee one of the individual Gardens by maintaining, pruning, plant replacement, maintain paths and detailing the garden. Supervise, teach and encourage volunteers. Plan to three hours a week depending on the needs of the garden. Visit our web site for more information: www.naturescaping.org

    Event Volunteer: Be part of the fun by volunteering at the various events throughout the year. These include the annual Plant Sale (end of April), Eco-Fair (April), Art in the Garden (July), Bird Festival (October) and other events as requested.

    Teaching: Teach a class on gardening for wildlife, natural landscape design, birds, butterflies, hummingbirds, etc. Writing: Write an article for our newsletter. Topics might include: birds, bees, other beneficial insects, or butterflies; a plant, tree or shrub that attracts wildlife; topics on natural gardening.

    Other: Like carpentry? Build or repair benches, or other wooden hardscape items in one of the ten focus gardens.
