    SelfSoulLiberate is a non-profit organization dedicated to achieving health equity and reducing stigma surrounding mental health in under-resourced communities. Our mission is to provide educational resources, develop sustainable wellness frameworks, and make care more accessible.

    Role Description:

    We are seeking a dedicated and highly detail-oriented Treasurer to join our Board of Directors on a volunteer basis. The Treasurer will be essential in safeguarding and guiding the financial health of SelfSoulLiberate, ensuring that our resources are managed effectively and ethically to maximize our impact in advancing mental health equity.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the organization’s financial planning, annual budgeting process, and ongoing financial forecasting.
    • Ensure accurate and transparent financial record-keeping, adhering to all nonprofit accounting standards and regulatory compliance.
    • Prepare and present clear, concise financial statements and reports to the Board of Directors, offering insights and recommendations.
    • Develop, implement, and periodically review the organization’s financial policies and procedures to ensure best practices.
    • Work collaboratively with the Board and fundraising team to develop sustainable financial strategies that support mission growth.
    • Manage banking relationships and oversee responsible investment activities.
    • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, facilitating and overseeing the annual audit process.
    • Provide expert financial guidance and support to other board members and staff as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Proven experience in financial management, accounting, or a closely related field, with a strong preference for experience within a non-profit environment.
    • Comprehensive understanding of financial statements, budgeting principles, and financial reporting.
    • In-depth familiarity with non-profit financial regulations and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
    • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences.

    Time Commitment & Logistics:

    • This is a remote volunteer position.
