Transtion-Age Youth Workshops Volunteer

Requirements (Monthly Commitment: 1.5-3 hours + travel time)

1. Ability and willingness to commit to volunteering for at least one workshop per month. Workshops are typically 1–1.5 hours long, not including travel time.
2. Ability to successfully pass a background check prior to volunteering.
3. Willingness to learn how to lead or co-lead workshops over time. Current workshop topics in need of volunteer leaders include budgeting, stress management, apartment hunting, résumé building, interview skills, and navigating human resources.
4. Ability to provide the Executive Director, Ali Bodager, with at least 48–72 hours’ notice if unable to attend a scheduled workshop. We understand emergencies happen and ask that notice be given as soon as possible in those situations.
5. Commitment to engaging with participants through a trauma-informed, respectful, and compassionate approach.

Preferred Attributes

1. Personal lived experience with the foster care system, homelessness, or housing instability.
2. Professional or volunteer experience in one of the workshops listed in #2 above.
