Description
Requirements (Monthly Commitment: 1.5-3 hours + travel time)
- Ability and willingness to commit to volunteering for at least one workshop per month. Workshops are typically 1–1.5 hours long, not including travel time.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check prior to volunteering.
- Willingness to learn how to lead or co-lead workshops over time. Current workshop topics in need of volunteer leaders include budgeting, stress management, apartment hunting, résumé building, interview skills, and navigating human resources.
- Ability to provide the Executive Director, Ali Bodager, with at least 48–72 hours’ notice if unable to attend a scheduled workshop. We understand emergencies happen and ask that notice be given as soon as possible in those situations.
- Commitment to engaging with participants through a trauma-informed, respectful, and compassionate approach.
Preferred Attributes
- Personal lived experience with the foster care system, homelessness, or housing instability.
- Professional or volunteer experience in one of the workshops listed in #2 above.
