In YMCA Preschool Programs, we believe in nurturing young minds and bodies in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment. Our licensed preschools offer a comprehensive early childhood education curriculum designed to foster social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. With a focus on play-based learning, our experienced educators provide personalized attention to each child, helping them build confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning!
As a Preschool Program Volunteer, you’ll assist YMCA staff in organizing fun activities like story time, arts and crafts, play-based learning, and outdoor play.
Schedule – Our Preschool Programs run Monday through Friday from about 8 AM to 6:00 PM, depending on location. Flexible scheduling – we’ll work with you to determine a volunteer schedule based on your availability!
Program Participants – Our Preschool Program participants range in age from 18 months to 5 years, depending on location.
Locations – Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation YMCA Community Family Center, Heritage Elementary, Liberty Elementary, Odyssey Elementary, Polk Elementary
Required Volunteer Credentials – Interview (phone or video), Background Check, Reference Check, Online Training Course, YMCA Policy Agreements
No prior education/childcare experience required!
