Celebrate Earth Day 2026 at South Prairie Creek Preserve and join the April 25th volunteer work party as we prepare native trees and shrubs for the spring. During the spring months, grass is growing and animals are hungry. To protect plants from deer and elk herbivory, we need your help to install tree protector tubes. Bring your family and friends and help our plantings get ahead of the competition. Over 46,000 tress and shrubs have been planted at the Preserve over the last 20 years, and we need your help to build healthy and robust salmon habitat.
We also invite you to learn more about the birds of Washington State with an optional bird walk led by PCD's resident birder, Glenn Johnson. The bird walk will be led on-site before the event starts from 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM. We will have a few pairs of binoculars to loan out, but we encourage you bring you own gear, if possible.
