Bonding Buddies: The Power of Companionship Volunteer, Plainfield

Looking to make a difference in the life of someone in your community? Become an Elara Caring Hospice Volunteer! Our volunteers enhance the lives of those receiving our services by providing compassionate visits. If you have an interest in serving persons facing end of life issues and being a part of a fantastic hospice team, we want to hear from you!

Elara Caring Hospice is looking for Companion Volunteers who will visit patients in local nursing facilities or in private homes. The Companion Volunteer will provide companionship, play cards/games, watch TV, take the patient out into the garden area for fresh air, read to the patient, etc. There is no physical care involved. Hours are very flexible, weekdays, evenings or weekends. Typically we ask that you visit your assigned patient 1-2 hours per week or offer 1-2 hours per week or work in the office. Individuals receiving hospice care appreciate the additional care and support of a volunteer.
