    Become a hospice volunteer

Volunteering with hospice can be a rewarding and meaningful experience. Our dedicated volunteers give their time, talents, and heart to support patients at the end of life. We welcome you to join our team of volunteers in Osceola county! Join us in the mission to deliver extraordinary care to every person we touch in every community we serve.

    What can volunteers do?

    Patient Visits

Visit our patients in a variety of settings from in the home where you will give a much needed break to a caregiver, to a long term care facility where you can provide companionship to a lonely patient. We also have patients in our hospice houses and inpatient units that need comfort care and support.

    Office Support

The tasks of organizing, copying and filing are all part of Cornerstone’s daily effort. While it is not direct patient care, all of your tasks will be in support of some part of process that follows the care of patients.

    Cornerstone Valor Salutes

We honor patients who served their country by offering them this special tribute. Each Veteran is presented with a special pin and a certificate of appreciation.

    Pet Peace of Mind Program

Pet Peace of Mind volunteers help to keep our patients and their pets together during hospice care. In this role you would help by walking dogs or transporting pets to vet appointments.

    Vigil Volunteers

Sometimes when a patient is at the end of life, they find themselves alone. Maybe all of their loved ones have passed before them, or perhaps they live very far away. A Vigil Volunteer will sit with a patient who has no one else during their last days of life, providing comfort, reassurance, love and support.

    Bereavement Support

After the death of a loved one, Cornerstone stays connected to the family with bereavement services, generally for 13 months or longer if needed. As a bereavement volunteer, you will be making follow-up phone calls to family members.

    Bear In Mind Program

Do you love to sew? If so, Bear in Mind is a rewarding project for your talents. You’ll create that patient’s unique bear from the material of clothing once worn by the patient.
