Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Programs Coordinator to support our core mission of keeping dogs healthy and connected with their families. In this role, you will help execute and manage The Dog Health Fund's programmatic offerings, including our Navigation to Care inquiries, Mini-Grants Program, educational efforts, and special initiatives like our microchipping project.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about animal welfare, community support, and administrative management who wants to directly impact dog owners seeking preventative and essential health resources.
Responsibilities
- Navigation to Care: Review and triage incoming care requests from dog owners, helping direct families toward practical, affordable care pathways, financial aid, and local veterinary resources with coordination from a Board representative.
- Mini-Grants Program & Board Committee Support: Provide administrative and logistical support to the Mini-Grants application process and assist the Board Committee that oversees grant allocations and review guidelines.
- Education & Resources: Assist in distributing evidence-based educational guides, fact sheets, care-plan tools, and supporting community workshops or webinars.
- Microchipping & Special Initiatives: Help coordinate logistics, communications, and tracking for our unique microchipping initiative, as well as ad-hoc community programs as they arise.
- Program Tracking: Maintain clean records of inquiries, grant applications, and participant data in our database/CRM to help track programmatic impact.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Empathetic, clear, and professional communication skills (written and verbal).
- Experience or comfort working with Google Workspace, online forms, databases, or CRM platforms.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle sensitive applicant information with discretion.
- A passion for canine health and animal welfare.
Time Commitment
We are looking for a commitment of roughly 5 hours per week (with a 2-hour minimum per week requirement). This is a remote-friendly position but must be based in NJ! We are happy to provide proof of volunteering and a certificate upon completion.
