Volunteer Rest-Stop-Ranch Ambassador
Flexible Community Role
Rest Stop Ranch is a trusted and inclusive community destination for respite, recreation, education, and healing throughout and beyond the long-term-care journey. We provide spiritual- psycho-social-emotional support to long-term-care givers and receivers. We are seeking an outgoing, community-minded volunteer to serve as our Rest- Stop-Ranch Ambassador, connecting our sanctuary with local organizations that will benefit from our programs.
The Successful Candidate for Rest-Stop-Ranch Ambassador will:
- Facilitate Community Outreach: Connect Rest Stop Ranch to care facilities, town offces, churches, Rotary clubs, and local businesses in your town.
- Raise Awareness: Make organizations and community members aware of our programs and events, ensuring those who need our services know they are available.
- Distribute Resources: Provide printed literature, brochures, and event calendars to community partners to increase the visibility of our sanctuary.
- Adhere to Care Policies: Maintain the standard that sta and volunteers provide social and spiritual support and are not responsible for direct physical care of guests.
Required Training & Skills
- Compassion & Empathy: A strong desire to act for the mission and vision of Rest Stop Ranch and support those on the long-term-care journey.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to talk informally to a diverse audience.
- Reliability: Ability to self-direct and work independently to meet organizational goals.
- Orientation: Volunteers are oriented and then paired with a member of our team to perform tasks
The Ideal Candidate
- Local Knowledge: Strong ties to your local community and familiarity with town organizations, businesses, and care facilities.
- Positive Attitude: Contributing with a positive, "can-do" attitude with all guests and team members.
- Time Commitment & Frequency
- Flexible Schedule: This role oers flexible hours that can be completed primarily remotely out in
- the community, with periodic check-ins at the Caretaker’s Cottage or by Zoom.
- Commitment: Ideally, the volunteer will commit to 2–5 hours per week, depending on community events and outreach goals.
