Become a Lunch Buddy for a Spanish Speaking Student!
Our Latino students have a number of unique hurdles to face in their education path, not to mention the family struggles and fears they're dealing with at home. We're looking for some professionals or college students who speak Spanish to spend 30 minutes a week with one of our Latino elementary students during their lunchtime. Lunch times are typically between 11:15 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Mentors can share stories, play games, or just hang out over lunch. All mentors are provided with a week-to-week guide of optional activities and conversation starters. A mentor coordinator is available to help or answer questions at any time. In an effort to be flexible with volunteers, mentors can choose the day they visit and it can vary week-to-week if needed.
