Youth Arts Workshop Assistant — The Mandala Challenge

About the Opportunity: Join us as a volunteer workshop assistant for The Mandala Challenge, a free creative arts and mindfulness program for underserved youth ages 5-18. You'll help facilitate monthly workshops where children create mandala artwork while learning focus, calm, and emotional regulation techniques.

Where: MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation — a 30-year institution serving 200+ youth daily in Jacksonville's Urban Core.

What You'll Do:

• Assist with setup and distribution of art supplies
• Support youth during guided breathing and art creation
• Encourage and engage with children as they work
• Help with cleanup and organization

Time Commitment:

• 1-hour training session (week of May 26-28)
• Monthly workshops: approximately 60-90 minutes per session
• Flexible schedule — we work around your availability

Ideal For:

• College students in art, education, psychology, or social work
• Anyone seeking community service or service-learning hours
• Individuals passionate about youth development and mental wellness

No prior experience required — just a positive attitude and a desire to make a difference in the lives of Jacksonville's youth.
